  • you asked, we answered | Q&A

A few weeks back, we asked you to send us questions on our instagram with any questions that you have about your hair. We saw your questions and have some answered from you from our team! What are ways to get the most life between washes (someone with an oily scalp)? Use dry shampoo after you blow-dry, not the next day! You should use it as a preventative not a fix. We have a few different dry shampoo options in our collection, if you are unsure which one will work best for your hair, consult one of our stylists. Avoid touching your hair too much during the day to keep the oils from your hands out of your hair. Lastly, brush your hair daily! What is the difference between balayage and highlights? Balayage is a freeform hand painting technique that is a lower maintenance alternative to highlighting. Highlighting is a traditional technique used when lightening the hair. When scheduling a color appointment, we highly recommend that you come into the salon for a consultation. This allows us to determine the time needed to achieve the look you are going for. How can I prevent gray hairs? Sadly, there’s no true preventative to gray hairs. The old myth is that when you pluck one hair, three more grow back. There's no scientific evidence to prove this is true, but we definitely do not recommend plucking out the hairs. If you’re not ready to fully commit to coloring your hair, you can do a gloss. A gloss is semi permanent hair color that will soften the color of the gray and will fade out with time. How to help dry damaged winter hair? The best way to treat dry damaged winter hair is by starting with a new shampoo and conditioner. If that’s not enough, we recommend doing weekly to monthly hair conditioning treatments to help put protein back into the hair and give it the moisture it is lacking. • the best shampoo & conditioner for you!

The best shampoo for you should be professionally recommended based on your hair type, texture, and color service. All brands are different, so it is important to consult your hair professional. Professional hair care give you the most optimal results and is important for chemically treated hair. Curly Hair Curly hair thrives on moisture. There are many great shampoo lines for this. One of the best hair care lines for curly hair is Deva. We recommend using Deva because it eases the manageability of curly hair. It is sulfate free and gentle on all hair types fine to coarse. Straight or Wavy Hair Straight hair can use a gentle and volumizing shampoo and conditioner, or a smoothing shampoo and conditioner depending on your style. A Professional Volume or Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner is great onthis type of hair. It adds fullness, shine, and the proper moisture your hair needs. Fine Hair Fine hair is fragile and it needs a Professional Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner gives the proper balance of moisture and volume without damaging. There are many different professional brands that cater to fine hair. Damaged or Dry Hair Depending on either lack of moisture or damaged, there are moisturizing shampoos that will add moisture to dry, dull, lifeless hair. Damaged hair needs a reparative shampoo, most have protein in them, which helps repair and strengthen hair. Chemically Treated Hair With Chemically Treated Hair, it is most important to use Professional Shampoo and Conditioners to ensure the most optimal durability to prolong the treatment. #thebestshampooandconditioner

  • wash wash wash!

It is healthy to shampoo your hair every day, to every other day depending on your lifestyle. In between your washes, it is beneficial to use a dry shampoo to refresh and cleanse your hair! Dry shampoos can be aerosol spray or powder! Always be sure to use the proper shampoo for your hair type and texture. When washing hair, use warm water and end with a cool rinse to help close down the cuticle of your hair. There are many shampoos and conditioners out there for every hair type. For example, if you have fine hair, it is best to use professional volume shampoo and conditioner. This will give you the added volume you need without damaging or weighing down your hair. Conditioner should be used by everyone! It helps to close down the cuticle, adds more shine, and prevents fly aways.
